Membership is open to all watershed councils. PURPOSEThe Association is a coalition of volunteer councils that work with community partnerships to promote healthy streams and stream banks that are fish friendly, providing natural habitat, and maintaining pleasant neighborhoods for families and businesses.GEOGRAPHIC AREAThe Willamette River, flowing northward toward the Columbia River passes the length of the Willamette Valley. The valley located on the western side of the Cascade Mountain range are the cities of Salem, Oregon's capitol, Dallas, Monmouth, Independence, Silverton, Mount Angel, and Rickreall. Within these communities flow tributary streams and creeks that cover hundreds of square miles. The waters are vital to support farming, sporting, and wildlife habitat.![]() BY LAWSThe bylaws of the Association encourage and promote educational and scientific study. Volunteers in each watershed conduct temperature and other water monitoring techniques.MEETINGSMeetings of the Board is on the third Wednesday of each month, at 5:30PM in the office of the Marion Soil Water Conservation District, 3867 Wolverine St. NE, Suite 16, Salem, OregonEVENTSThe Association assists with the many of the events to celebrate and raise funds for stream and habitat restoration.
